Missionary Gift Day
- Saturday 24th May
This year's Gift Day resembled a story from the Old Testament - Noah's Ark!! What had begun as a fairly promising morning soon turned into a torrential downpour around midday. The Gift Day was to begin at 2pm, but, by then, the floods were beginning to rise. Were it not for some cover, the afternoon would have been a wash out. Thankfully the WFM gazeebo kept the crowds dry, while the folks in the Hall provided the perfect pick me up - a hot cup of tea. There was a very good turnout for the afternoon and as the waters were being 'bucketed' away the rainbow at the end of the day was that over £1500 had been raised.

General Assembly of the Free Church of Scotland - Monday 19th - Friday 23rd May
The General Assembly of the Free Church, which meets once a year in Edinburgh, held a place close to the hearts of many Golspie people. The Moderator for this year's Assembly, Rev Ronald MacKay, was once a young minister in Golspie when he and his wife Helen lived and worked there. Mr MacKay officiated with great skill and there was great warmth in his deliberations. His opening paper was on Prayer, a subject close to his heart.

St Botolphs without Aldersgate (London) - Sunday 18th May
Eric was at St Botolphs for the Sunday Services of the Free Church in London. After the morning Service there was a fellowship meal provided by way of a buffet dinner in the church.

Baptism - Sunday 4th May
Paul and Sue Coxan presented their four children for baptism at the Sunday Morning Service. They affirmed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and promised with God's help to faithfully bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Lochinver Communion Services - Friday 2nd May
Eric was in Lochinver for the Friday evening service of the Communion Weekend. The theme of the service was Jesus as the 'Bread of Life'.
(It was good news to hear that there were two new members admitted to the congregation over the weekend)
