SOS - Games Time
SOS (Sunday Open School) have just finished running 4 weeks of games activities over the past four Thursday afternoons. One aspect of the activeties was to raise money for the Sunday School Project and this ammounted to over £50.

WFM - Trek across the Sahara
The WFM had their October meeting and Carine Ross showed slides and spoke about her recent trek across the Sahara.

Faith Mission - Brora Praise Night

The Faith Mission had their annual Brora Praise Night on Thursday October 2nd. There was a very good turn out from the local churches to what proved to be a very inspirational evening. Highland Harmony also took part in the evening's proceedings.

Noah's Ark
As an alternative to haloween the young folks had another of their Noah's Ark fancy dress parties. A good time was had by all, including the welcomed visitors from Helmsdale Free Church.


Sunday in Ullapool
Eric was over in Ullapool to take the Sunday Services. There was a good congregation with a very broad range of ages at both services. Special mention to the 3 lovely ladies from N. Ireland who added to the praise with their 'parts singing'.

Communion Services - November
The Rev Ronald Morrison of Tain Free Church led the worship on the Thursday evening of the November communions. His thoughts centred on the experience of Peter at the time of the crucifixion and resurection of Jesus Christ.
The Friday evening service was taken be Rev Angus Lamont of Dornoch who took up the scripture concerning the conversion experience of Saul.
The Rev Roddy Rankin, who is the visiting speaker for the weekend, spoke on the Saturday evening from 1 John 4 about the need to know and rely upon the Love of God. On the Sunday Morning Roddy spoke about the New Covenant and in the evening about the Anointing of Jesus by Mary. It was also good to share with folks from Brora (who closed their evening service to be with us) and also visitors from Rogart and Dornoch.
It was a very good weekend which the Lord was pleased to bless us with.


Thursday Evening in Embo
Eric was in Embo for the Thursday evening service of the communion season. The theme for the evening sermon was, "What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?"

Golspie Craft Group -WFM Project
Golspie Free Church craft group had a soup and roll lunch on Saturday to raise money for the WFM project. This included a number of crafts sales tables and the total ammount raised for the project, which is to help very young AIDS victums in South Africa, ammounted to £340.


Rogart Communion Service
Eric was in Rogart for the Sunday evening communion service. The theme of the meeting was 'thanksgiving'. There was one new member by profession of faith.


Quinquennial Visit - Wednesday 3rd December
Golspie Free Church welcomed a committee of presbytery for their 5 yearly visit and assessment. The committeee met with the the people of the church at length and the interim report to the congregation was very positive. The committee will now submit a full report to the Presbytery.





YF Games Night - Tuesday 23rd December
The Youth Fellowship got together for their Christmas Games Night. Three PS2's, one PS1, One PC, a pool table, and then lots of food kept everyone going for the evening. The time just flew in.

Family Guest Service
- Sunday 21st December
There was a very good turnout of both young and old for our Christmas Guest Service. This is an annual service especially geared up for the young folk and their parents. It was good to see many visitors on the evening and especially the folks from St Andrews Church of Scotland. The theme for the evening was "Unwrapping Xmas" which sought to find out the true meaning of the birth of Jesus. Afterwards there were mince pies and coffee served in the hall and this was followed by a time of singing. Thanks to all who braved the weather!

YF Day Out - 13th December
The youth fellowship had their day out on Saturday and went to Dingwall to watch the Ross County vs Clyde football match. The afternoon begun when we were met in the reception area of the stadium by the Chairman of Ross County, Mr Roy MacGregor. He very kindly took us on a trip around the stadium and then gave the youth fellowship complementary programmes, (which Alex Smith kindly signed for the younsters), coca cola's, and match tickets for the West Stand. It was a great day out for us all and was finished with a trip to the chippie's.
We would like to thank all at Ross County for making this a really good day out.
