t-i-G John Mackay Motors Closes



After nearly a decade of working in Church Street, Golspie, John MacKay, under the auspices of John MacKay Motors, finally shuts the door and retires. We would like to wish John and Isobel a very happy retirement.

Also missed will be Johnny Melville and the other cronies.

Official opening of Golspie Community Arts and Garden.

Golspie community Arts and Garden was officially opened by councillor Ian Ross who referred to the close working of many groups in the community who contributed to this successful project. The stunning weather was also complemented by the background music provided by Blaze.


Today in Golspie - 21st March


Get-to-gether of Christians at 7pm in Church Street. This is a meeting for prayer and study of the bible. Anyone can come along.

Sing Psalms


The singing group meets at 7.30pm on Sunday 18th March (and every fortnight thereafter). This is open to anyone who enjoys singing. Over the next few months new tunes will be learnt and old ones revisited.

The time spent by this small group in learning these tunes has certainly benefited the singing and worship in the church services.


AGM.....


Last night we had our agm which was fairly well attended. A number of reports were given re mission work, youth work, accounts, wfm, etc. It was a very relaxed meeting with tea and coffee available, at the small tables the people were sitting at, while the reports were being given.

Thinking Day


The Scout and Guide units of Golspie and their leaders joined the Free Church congregation at their morning service for the annual celebration of remembrance for their founders, Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, and members of the movement around the world.

The service was led by the Rev Eric Paterson, who encouraged everyone to continue seeking development in their spiritual, physical and emotional well-being, following the guidelines of the founders.

The collection raised £71 for Pamoja, a Christian charity serving the poor, widows, and orphans in Kenya.
