Kirkcaldy to get New Minister

The Rev John Johnstone has accepted a call to be minister at Kircaldy Free Church. John comes from Cumbernauld and studied English at Aberdeen University before being appointed as Youth Assistant at Bon Accord Free Church. After marrying Sarah, whom he met at Bon Accord, he applied for the Free Church ministry in 2006 and has recently graduated from the Free Church College in Edinburgh.

The Kirkcaldy Free Church congregation became vacant during the summer when Rev Neil Macmillan, who had been minister there for 15 years, left to become the support worker for the Home Missions Board. After a short vacancy the congregation decided last month to nominate Rev Johnstone as their choice and his call was signed and accepted shortly afterwards.

John is married to Sarah and they have three children: Rachel, Samuel and Anna.

The ordination and induction will be on
Friday 13th November at 7:30 in
Viewforth Parish Church
Viewforth St
Kirkcaldy KY1 3DJ

Thereafter there will be tea etc in Kirkcadly Free Church which is a short walk from Viewforth Parish Church.
